Curlew Cup & Beaumont Trophy 2023

Zeb Kyffin [Saint Piran Pro Cycling] and Monica Greenwood [Das Handsling] are Crowned the British Cycling National Road Series Champions in 2023.

Concluding this year National Series, the women’s Curlew Cup & the men’s Beaumont Trophy were won by Corrine Side Pro [Noctis-Heidi Kjeldson] & Finn Crockett [Saint Piran Pro Cycling] in bunch sprints respectively.

The races were held as usual in Stamfordham, Northumberland taking in the in-famous Ryals climb each lap.

A quiet start for the women with the peloton mainly staying together early on.

Aggressive attacks up the Ryals proved fruitful for Elidh Swat [Alba Development Team] taking the Queen-of-the-Mountain trophy at the end of play.

Several attacks came in the later stages of the race, but everything was left to the final bunch kick as they passed though Matfen for the final time.

One final push up to the line saw Side take the win with Greenwood sitting comfortably in the bunch.

The men’s race was more aggressive with attack after attack.

Early leaders up the Ryals for the first time saw William Truelove [ROKiT-SRCT], John Archibald (HUUB-Wattbike], Tim Shoreman [Wheelbase-Cab Tech-Castelli] & Damien Clayton.

The race was decided by a bunch sprint with Zeb Kyffin following on shortly behind having emptying everything to stay in contention.
