After Round One of the Matrix Fitness GP Series in Redditch. Reigning National Road Race Champion Laura Trott will pull on The Tour Series leaders jersey for Round Two in Motherwell. The Women’s race starts at 17.30pm. The Men’s Race 19.30pm.

The only visit to Scotland this Series, will see stiff competition from Eileen Roe (Wiggle Honda), Charline Joiner (Team WNT) and Katie Archibald (Pearl Izumi Sports Tours Int’l. All super-motivated for putting on a show, on home soil.

Trott’s recent win in Redditch and this weekends win at the Milk Race in Nottingham, will surely defend her title having switched to the main sponsors of the Series for 2015.

National Criterium Champion and last years Matrix Fitness GP winner, Eileen Roe is looking forward to showing off her stripes in-front of the home crowd. Talking to her after her second place in the Tour de Yorkshire, and before her first trip to China for the UCI World Cup Series for Wiggle Honda. Roe had said she likes riding in front of crowds in the circuit races. She had missed that type of racing, having spent the Winter in Australia with Wiggle Honda, before returning to Europe and early season racing in Belgium.

Roe was still suffering from jet lag, and short circuit racing legs at last weekends Milk Race. Roe’s team-mate Dani King, sits in second position. Roe said that she will not contest the Series Championship, saying that you really need to attend all of the rounds to win the title. Roe missed the first round.

Katie Archibald knows Trott too well. Being part of the very successful Team GB Women’s Pursuit squad, should be used to the “Track Lunge”. Having narrowly missed the Milk Race title for a second time. Trott had employed her track tactic to gain that extra 3000’s advantage on Sunday, but had said to Archibald, “I think you had that one”. It was left to the photo finish machine to make that call.

Other home favourite Charline Joiner, Team WNT sits in ninth position going into this round. Team-mate Lydia Boylan sits two positions ahead of her.
