A great ride by Joe Truman (Team Inspired) had it all to-do to claim this years Keirin Title. No sooner had the derny left the track & Matthew Roper wound up the gearing to go for a long sneaky win. A slight hesitation by Truman saw Roper disappear down the track and almost out of sight. The crowd were going wild as Truman clawed back the meters getting along side him for the final corner. Keeping his momentum going, Truman passed Roper in the last 30 meters to show a clean set of wheels.<\/p>\n

Quickest in qualifying & quickest ever time recorded on the boards in Manchester winning the Gold against Team Inspired. The only sub 4 qualifier was set by HUUB-Wattbike p\/b Vita Coco as the treated the audience to a spectacular demonstration in Team Pursuit in the final too. Catching & passing their opponents, the HUUB boys continued to cover the full 4k course & post a time of 3.54.032.<\/p>\n
The Bronze playoff couldn\u2019t have been much closer as the AeroLab out-run the Welsh quartet that could have gone either way.<\/p>\n

Women's 30km points race finals and ceremony<\/pre>\n
Emily Meakin (Drops) scored the first 5 points in the Women\u2019s eighty-lap race with Anna Docherty (Breeze) taking the next 5 points. Sophie Lewis (Team Flamme Rouge) collected the next 5 points before Millie Couzens (PH-MAS Paul Milnes Cycles) took the next 5.<\/p>\n
A small 3 rider break got away mid race, the first concerted effort, but soon got reeled back and Jenny Holl took the next two sprints going to the top of the leader board for the first time.<\/p>\n
Josie Knight (Breeze) & Kinga Ingram (Jadan-Cycle Space Disley Vive le Velo) had tried in-between Holl\u2019s sprint wins but again, nothing was sticking.<\/p>\n
Next to try her luck was team-mate Anna Shackley (Breeze) with 17 laps remaining going off the front solo. Collecting the penultimate 5 points, Shackley looked like she was going to take a lap. But a mistake by the leading girls saw the remaining points mopped up by Maddy Leech (PH-MAS), Amelia Sharpe (Breeze) & Millie Couzens (PH-MAS) as the pace increased, leaving Shackley about a half lap up.<\/p>\n

With the final couple of laps remaining Shackley had no option but to hang-on out there for the double points as the peloton wound up the pace. Leech (PH-MAS) crossed the line ahead of Holl third. That finish cost Holl the Gold medal as everyone waited for the points to be checked & verified. Shackley was the new Points Champion.<\/p>\n

A high paced race saw drama in the final lap. It was an Inspired 1-2-3 with Rhys Britton taking the jersey. A crash on the final bend saw Joe Holt (Wales Racing Team) skid across the finish line such was the speed.<\/p>\n

Oscar Nilsson-Julien, VC Londres & Max Poole, Fensham Howes \u2013 MAS Design both gain laps alone each to guarantee progression into this evening final in heat 1 of 3.<\/p>\n
Eight rides from each heat will contest the final race for the National Champs Jersey.<\/p>\n
A difficult start for John Archibald, HUUB Wattbike Test Team in heat 2 as a mechanical causes him to try & chase the leading group from behind. Eventually Archibald concedes a lap in hope of a group going away to regain his chance to progress.<\/p>\n
Jon Mould, Wales Racing Academy finished 1st<\/sup> across the line for 10 points, but Archibald\u2019s effort wasn\u2019t enough to ride for the jersey later.<\/p>\n
The 3rd<\/sup> heat had 4 rides gain a lap with Matti Dobbins, RT23 making the catch just before the final sprint. Ethan Vernon taking the 10 points & assuring his ride in the final.<\/p>\n
Men's sprint qualifying, first round and quarter-finals<\/pre>\n
Last off in the 200m Flying start qualifier Hamish Turnbull, Slingshot posted the fastest time with a 10.081, closely followed by Alex Spratt, Private Member, 10.126 & Ali Fielding, Slingshot with a 10.204.<\/p>\n

Women's team pursuit qualifying, finals and ceremony<\/pre>\n
Six Teams riding for the medals in the 2020 Nats & defending champs Team Breeze rode a 4.32.84 for the Gold play-off. They will ride against University of Nottingham whilst Central Region will ride against Jadan \u2013 Vive le Velo p\/b Cycle Space Disley for the Bronze.<\/p>\n
Team Jadan narrowly miss out on the medals by 0.151s to finish 4th<\/sup> in the competition as Central Region take the bronze. Up-ing their game in the play off by over 4 seconds, the Jadan girls [Kinga Ingram, Poppy Thompson, Emily Tillett & Corrine Side] kept it together for the whole 16 laps as the Central Region girls dropped down to 3 early on.<\/p>\n
With 4 laps remaining they were over 2 seconds in deficit only to make a charge for the line as the meters counted down.<\/p>\n
All wasn\u2019t lost for Jadan though as 2 of their team-mates were riding against Breeze for gold with Sophie Lankford & Charlotte Mitchell.<\/p>\n

Kyle Gordon took the lead with 2 riders remaining ahead of an elated Tom Ward, AeroLab Ward Wheels as he set a PB earlier on in the competition that looked hard to beat.<\/p>\n

Men's 40km points race final and ceremony<\/pre>\n
David Bolland, Spirit Tifosi RT was the 3rd<\/sup> rider to gain a lap with under 40 laps remaining in the 120, 40Km race. The peloton began to splinter soon after as Rhys Britton, Team Inspired topped the leader board with 35 points. Will Perrett, HUUB-Wattbike Test Team had been the other earlier rider to have gained a lap.<\/p>\n
Perrett, Britton, William Roberts & Jack Rootkin-Gray then gained a lap to go clear of the rest of the riders with Britton still leading by 5 points ahead of Perret & 1 point ahead of Roberts with 49.<\/p>\n
The final sprint had everything to play for with 10 points on offer.<\/p>\n
Rhys Britton took the bell to lead around the final lap with Roberts taking the full 10 final points. Britton had done enough to seal the champions jersey in 2020 with Roberts in silver & Perrett taking the bronze.<\/p>\n

Whilst team-mates Will Perrett & Dan Bigham will ride for Bronze. The 5th member of the Team, Kyle Gordon set the 5th best time of the day just over half a second down with a 4.18.140.<\/p>\n

Riding the second ever 3k IP, Leah Dixon rode a respectable 3.40.706. Setting out for Europe soon, Dixon has landed her first Pro Contract with Team Tibco-Silicon Valley for 2020.<\/p>\n

The first medal of the 2020 HSBCUK went to Josie Knight, Team Breeze beating Anna Morris, AeroLab Ward Wheelz by a second with Megan Barker, CAMS Tifosi taking the Bronze.<\/p>\n
Taking the harder route to Gold in the Women\u2019s Sprint, Lauren Bate, Team Terminator took a 3rd effort in the finals race to clinch the National Title as Millicent Tanner proved a strong opponent throughout the racing all day. Lauren Bell, Black Line claimed the Bronze to complete the podium for 2020.<\/p>\n
An Olympic trio of Kenny, Hindes & Carlin got Team Inspired going in the qualifying heat but it was left to Ryan Owens, Joe Truman & Jack Carlin to take Gold in the Open Team Sprint ahead of Slingshot with Black Line A picking up Bronze.<\/p>\n
The Men\u2019s 4000m Individual Pursuit was dominated by HUUB-Wattbike p\/b Vita Coco\u2019s members with John Archibald retaining last years title. This year he was up against Jonathan Wale\u2019s whilst for champion Dan Bigham secured Bronze for the final podium place.<\/p>\n
