Two out of two ain\u2019t bad for JTL Condor\u2019s Brenton Jones on his first visit to the Velo29-Altura Festival of Cycling in Stockton-on-Tees.<\/p>\n
Winning the Stockton Grand Prix, the second round of the HSBC-UK Grand Prix Series was a tough call to make for the spectators at the finish line on the Riverside and a photo call was required to separate the top two placings between Jones and Chris Latham, Team WIGGINS.
\nChris Opie, BIKE Channel Canyon, winner of the 2015 edition managed third place a bike length behind after one-hundred-and-seventy-seven kilometres of sizzling racing around the two circuits that form the race.<\/p>\n

The main break of the day quickly formed early into the race with eleven riders breaking clear with representation from most of the big teams.<\/p>\n

Making the break that went out to almost four minutes at one point were Alex Paton (Madison Genesis), Alister Slater JTL Condor), George Harper & Sam Williams (ONE Pro Cycling), Rhys Howells (Team WIGGINS), Callum Ferguson (Catford Banks\/Equipe) , Rory Townsend (BIKE Channel Canyon), Lawrence Carpenter, Chris Dredge (Spirit Tofosi), Alex Orrell-Turner (Wheelbase-Altura), George Wood (Richardson-Trek RT) and miles went by the time eventually came down by the close of the out-of-town village circuit and they began their return.<\/p>\n

JLT Condor had set the tempo with their sprinter Jones safely in the fold as several attempts by WIGGINS Rhys Howells, ONE Pro Cyclings Sam Williams and NRG Driveplan\u2019s Dan Bingham all trying solo efforts to avoid the bunch sprint that normally takes place, and this year\u2019s finish was no different, making us all wait for the official confirmation in a thrilling climax to the weekends Festival of Cycling in Stockton-on-Tees.<\/p>\n
