UCI Track Cycling World Cup Round 1 \u2013 Glasgow November 4th to 6th.<\/pre>\n

Team Pursuit qualifying took place on the Thursday evening with eight teams progressing through. GB men\u2019s and women\u2019s teams both safely qualified with the men topping the table with a 3.58.169. France where a close second with a 3.59.481, and Canada a 4.00.469. Italy set the quickest women\u2019s time with a 4.25.566, GB a 4.28.744 and Poland third 4.29.114.<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Ryan Owens, Joe Truman & Lewis Oliva qualify in the Men\u2019s Sprint starting the first session of the Tissot UCI Track World Cup in Glasgow. Posting a time 9.890 Owens led until Polish Rider Kamil Kuczynski bettered him with a 9.871.
\nTruman wasn\u2019t far behind with a 9.926 and Lewis Oliva a 9.963 whilst Ireland\u2019s Eoin Mullen scrapped the cut in twenty-seventh.
\nThe top four, Kuczynski, Owens, Lendel (Vasilijus) and Yakushevskiy (Pavel) progress automatically to the eighth-finals leaving twenty-four others to contest the sixteenth heats.
\nBoth Oliva and Truman win their heats going into the eighth-finals.
\nIn the quarter finals Kuczynski, Owens, Vynokurov (Andrii) and Yakushevskiy make this evenings semi-finals. Truman faced Owens over three heats but lost as the final afternoon session drew to a close.<\/p>\n

\nThe first three from each round progressed into the finals, Liubov Basova won heat one with Nicky Degrendele and Courtney Field. Simona Krupeckaite won heat two with Tania Barbero and Tatiana Kiselva.
\nEuropean Keirin Champion Simona Krupeckaite took the gold with Basova silver and Field bronze.<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Ellie Dickenson, Manon Lloyd, Emily Nelson and Emily Kay were the first winners in this year\u2019s Tissot UCI World Cup. The quartet set a time of 4.25.809 against Italy\u2019s Simona Frapporti, Elisa Balsamo, Maria Confaloniera and Francesca Pattoro.
\nItaly had led the early part of the race before both teams dropped to three riders. Italy\u2019s third rider found it difficult to hold the back wheel and messed up the changeovers before re-composing in the final laps.
\nFrance took the bronze well ahead of Poland with a 4.26.725.<\/p>\n

Simona Krupeckaite (LTU) set the quickest qualifying two-hundred-meter flying lap with a 10.951 over Tania Calvo (ESP) 11.083.
\nFinishing off today\u2019s session, Krupeckaite, Calvo, Nicky Degrendele (BEL) and Luibov Basova (UKR) will ride the quarter finals tomorrow.<\/p>\n

Women\u2019s individual pursuit (finals and ceremony)\r\n<\/pre>\n
A good start early on, in the Women\u2019s Individual Pursuit for Great Britain\u2019s Emily Nelson. Holding onto the leading position, most of the way through the heats. Setting a time of 3.39.021 was good enough to ride for the Bronze play-off against Tatsiana Sharakova (BLR).
\nThe quickest time was set by Justyna Kaczkowska (POL) with a 31.456 riding against Elisa Delzenne (FRA).
\nKaczkowska went on to win Gold against Delzenne. Sharakova beat Nelson for the Bronze.<\/p>\n

None of the British lads passed the first round of the Men\u2019s Keirin. Oliva and Truman were left to scrap it out in the repechages. Joe Truman took the lead with one lap remaining but couldn\u2019t hold on to progress. Lewis Oliva rode an aggressive race and progresses into the second round.<\/p>\n

Czech Republic\u2019s Tomas Babek won the Gold, with Lithuania\u2019s Vasilijus sprinting into second. Ukraine\u2019s Andrii Vynokurov won the minor final, whilst Great Britain\u2019s Joe Truman went out in the repechage.<\/p>\n

It was France versus Australia in the Men\u2019s one-hundred-and-twenty lap Points Race. Benjamin Thomas (France) taking the first sprint out of twelve with Miraliyev, Hryniv and De Ketele starting their account.
\nCameron Meyer (Australia) took sprint two with Canadian Adam Jamison and the duo gained half-a-lap straight after. Great Britain\u2019s Mark Stewart wasted little time joining the leaders as sprint three grew closer. Meyer and Stewart continued to sprint three and the Canadian dropped back, spent from his effort.
\nMeyer and Stewart could see the tail-enders of the peloton. A lap gained by Meyer and Stewart as the peloton stretched out with Thomas going off the front along with five others.
\nThomas misses out on the points after all that effort, but Meyer and Stewart soon start to reel the leading group back. The two groups join as sprint five approaches. Thomas gets maximum points.
\nAustralian Cameron Meyer goes off the front once more and soon starts to mop up the back markers. Half-a-lap gained and no reaction from the peloton. Another group mopped up and the back of the peloton is insight once more. Maximum points for Meyer as Spain\u2019s Eloy Teruel leads the peloton over the line.
\nMeyer gains his second lap with fifty-seven laps remaining. Meyer leads with fifty-five points, Stewart with twenty-three and Thomas with eleven.
\nThe group now all back together start looking at each other as sprint seven approaches. Belgium\u2019s Kenny De Ketele takes maximum points.
\nMeyer finds him self out-front once more, this time with Japanese rider Ryo Chikantani. Meyer rides around the top of the boards, waiting to see if there\u2019s a reaction.
\nImof (Switzerland) makes the next move, Harrison (Wales) joins in and rides to the next sprint. The speed increases and the duo are swept up.
\nThomas begins to defend his podium position and maybe move into second by riding aggressively on the front. Meyer rides closely behind, but Stewart finds himself driving group two. They all come back together before Thomas injects a burst of speed for sprint ten.<\/p>\n

Meyer still leads comfortably with fifty-six points, Stewart with twenty-seven and Thomas closes the gap with twenty-one.
\nHarrison makes another move and Meyer eases his way across. Thomas can\u2019t let Harrison lap the field so begins to chase. Stewart digs deep to try and bridge across to Thomas, twelve laps remain. Thomas closes the gap to the leaders and begins the sprint. Meyer takes sprint eleven, Thomas second. The two pull out a lead with nine laps remaining and Harrison makes contact once more.
\nThe back of the peloton is insight once more as Thomas drives the trio to a lap gained. Stewart doesn\u2019t have the legs to hold onto his silver medal position and drops to forth with four laps remaining.
\nStewart now in the lead position on the track has around half a lap. The final meters close in. Imhof goes for a long one with double points on offer and passes Stewart. One lap remaining.
\nDe Ketele passes Stewart on the back straight, followed by Miraliyev (Kazakhstan).
\nMeyer wins the Points Race lapping the field three times. Thomas secures silver in the dying laps and Harrison takes the bronze by one point over Stewart.<\/p>\n

Great Britain\u2019s Katie Archibald and Manon Lloyd won the first Women\u2019s UCI World Cup Madison. The race wasn\u2019t won without incident firstly being restarted after a false start. The race resumed and got well into the action before a crash brought a dozen girls to the floor on the home straight including both GB girls.<\/p>\n

A strong ride from the French pairing of Berthon and Coralie Demay who featured in most of the sprints led the standings midway. Archibald and Manon fought back winning sprints four-five-and-six. With both France and Great Britain missing points in the penultimate sprint won by the Ukraine girls Anna Nahirina and Oksana Klychina putting them in fourth. It was left down to final sprint with double points to decide the winners. Archibald took it on with Berthon on the final lap. Victory went to Great Britain. Russia\u2019s Maria Averina and Diana Klimova consistency put them in third.<\/p>\n

The first race in the Women\u2019s Omnuim, the Scratch Race was won by Japan\u2019s Yumi Kajihara with Belgium\u2019s Lotte Kopecky second. France\u2019s Roxane Fournier was a close third with Great Britain\u2019s Emily sprinting into forth.<\/p>\n

The second race in the Women\u2019s Omnium, the Tempo Race. Points are scored for the first rider over the line after six-laps have been completed, then every lap. Four points are given for a lap gained.
\nLithuania opened up their account with Ausrine Trebaite scoring the first point. Daria Pikulik (Poland) took lap two with Tetyana Klimchenko (Ukraine) lap three. Italy\u2019s Simona Frapporti took laps four and five before Lotte Kopecky to lap six.<\/p>\n

Emily Kay stuck her nose on the front soon after but race leader Yumi Kajihara had other ideas taking the next three laps as three rides including Kay and Tatsiana Sharakova went clear towards gaining a lap.
\nThe peloton slowed down at this point, but the three breakaway riders hung off the back mopping up additional points on the way.
\nThe race was over thirty laps so the number of points available were running out.
\nThe final few laps were won by Lou Xiaoling from China going clear towards the end of the race.
\nYumi Kajihara extends her lead in the Omnium, Kay moves to second and Sharakova third.<\/p>\n

France\u2019s Sylvain Chavanel beat Poland\u2019s Daniel Staniszewski in the Gold medal playoff for the four-thousand-meter Individual Pursuit title. Chavanel, a veteran of the road maintained his form throughout the day managed to dig deep and fend off the Polish youngster by over two seconds.
\nHolland\u2019s Dion Beukeboom took the Bronze medal winning Germany\u2019s Leif Lampater by nearly seven seconds.<\/p>\n

Belgium\u2019s Lotte Kopecky won the crowds favorite race, the Elimination Race. Australia\u2019s Manly finished forth leaving Kopecky, Kay and Kajihara fighting for the top three placements. Kay was left at the rear of the trio with seven laps remaining but had the strength to overhaul Kajihara in the last few meters to the line. Kay then had the final battle with Kopecky but didn\u2019t quite have the legs to get by.<\/p>\n
Kajihara leads by four points with one race remaining. Kay stays in second with Kopecky a further two points behind in third.<\/p>\n

Omnium Round\u00a04: Points\u00a0Race Results<\/p>\n
The final race in the Women\u2019s Omnium the Points Race now has double points in the final sprint so ten points for first over the line, and twenty points for every lap gained. It\u2019s still possible for any of the top seven girls to medal.<\/p>\n
An easy start to the race saw the favorites sitting mid pack. Norway\u2019s Yvonne Stenberg made the first move gaining almost a lap and collecting maximum points.<\/p>\n
Stenberg was left out-front for a while until race leader Kajihara picked up the pace. Kay was quick to respond and the gap soon closed.<\/p>\n
Kay took maximum points with sixty laps remaining before Kajihara joined force with Hong Kong\u2019s Yao Pang of the front once more.<\/p>\n
Ireland\u2019s Lydia Boyland reeled the leading duo in on the final corner to sprint three, Kajihara managed only one point after expending so much effort.<\/p>\n
The midway point through the race saw Manly (Australia) on the front before Trebaite (Lithuania) made an attack. This move didn\u2019t stick either before they all came back together.<\/p>\n
Boyland made the next move with Kopecky chasing on the run into sprint five. Kay went around the outside for second and put her into the lead for the first time by two points.<\/p>\n
Sharakova in fourth position decided it was a good time to make a move and she was joined by four chasing riders trying to bridge across to her. Frapporti (Italy), Stenberg, Pang and Tatjana Paller (Germany).<\/p>\n
Ausrine Trebaite decided to join-in too with twenty-three laps remaining and chased to catch theother group of four.<\/p>\n
Sharakova took maximum points on sprint six before latching onto the back of the peloton and into the virtual leaders position.<\/p>\n
It took quite a number of laps for four of the remaining five the catch the peloton mopping up all the points on offer. Frapporti wisely hung back till the sprint leaving Kopecky, Kay and Manly fighting for the remaining points on sprint seven.<\/p>\n
Kay was back in front of Sharakova by two points on one-hundred-and-twenty-one. Kajihara was a further two points back and Kopecky one behind on one-hundred-and-sixteen.<\/p>\n
The final sprint would decide the outcome of the Women\u2019s Omnium with five riders all with-in striking distance of the gold medal.<\/p>\n
The bell lap and Lucie Hochmann (Czech Republic) led the peloton across the line. Klimchenko took over before Fournier went over the top with half a lap remaining. Kay had nothing left in her legs.<\/p>\n
Fourier crossed the finish line first for ten points. Klimchenko was second by a whisker for six points of a fast moving Kopecky in third for four points. Kay had done enough for gold with Kopecky moving up to silver. Sharakova took the bronze finishing at the back of the group.<\/p>\n
