5<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Superpole<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kawasaki Racing Team\u2019s Tom Sykes posted the quickest lap time in the Superpole Qualifier, of 1.27.716 to almost beat the lap record, with an average speed of 165.110 kmph. Both Haslam and Melandri take the top positions after jostling for the win in an action packed race. Championship leader Carlos Checa got tipped off on turn one by Liberty Racing &#8211; Team Effenbert\u2019s Jakub Smrz.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Sykes got a good start to lead the first half of the race but lost it to Biaggi and the two BMW bikes.<\/p>\n<p>Towards the final bend, both BMW\u2019s were under pressure from Tom Sykes. But a last minuet charge by Jonathon Rea, into a gap left open by Melandri, saw him pushed off his bike whilst trying to close the door and into team mate Leon Haslam who had overshot.
